I just joined a local group which does some of these kinds of things. Being given a headset and watching a drone’s eye view is some pretty intense stuff.

I bet. I’m thinking of giving it a go , but the local area of Denver seems hit or miss in groups. There’s some here and there but sustaining interest in a particular area is difficult at this time. We’re talking only 2 years in for professional groups, and amateur groups have to juggle the FAA vs. RC laws of visual line-of-sight requirements. The two leagues, DRL and MultiGP don’t really have much of a ladder format, so the ability to get a solid competition base in any region is bound to be difficult.
An FAA solution is to run them indoors, so the line-of-sight rules dont apply.
